This is a horizontal type Z-stage, with a cross roller guide placed in three directions, horizontal, slanted, vertical, which changes the rotational movement of the precision ball screw to the up/down movement of the machine. The contact and drive parts are all high in precision, allowing precise up/down transfer; and it can bear moment load. For vertical types where the LS-Series is vertical, in Z direction, sinking may occur due to the load when it is turned off, but this can be prevented by mounting a brake motor. The disadvantages of the horizontal type stage is that when conducting the vision test on the max/min point after assembling, if the points are not located on the same plane, but the min point is on the left and the max point is on the right, then when moving up/down, if the left/right yow value is large, it is considered as an assembly error.
Other than the cross roller and ball screw type Z-stage, there is also Z-axis that moves up/down using a worm gear. This Z-stage can move heavy load products up/down better than general type stages, and does not have any up/down movement difference at the max and min points, and does not sink when turned off without a brake motor.
